An abundance of natural habitat for a variety of big game animals
Our Base
The day before your hunt begins we meet at the ranch base in Anahim Lake. Six Mile Ranch is the home of Roger Williams and Wanda Dorsey (Terra's parents). Six Mile Ranch provides the closest access to our territory.
Accommodation provided at the ranch includes a bed, dinner and a hearty rancher's breakfast, prepared by Wanda or Terra. Roger has been guiding in the Chilcotin area since the late '70's and has been the head guide for Lehman Creek Outfitters since 1987. You will enjoy the chance to settle in and learn a bit about our country and our hunting practises from your knowledgeable hosts.
The next morning, Day 1, you will hunt your way up to one of our out-camps and also have an opportunity to hunt again that evening.
We also guide moose hunts out of Moore Creek Camp, north of Chezacut. If your hunt is based out of this camp, you will need to arrive early the day before to allow enough time to transport your gear from the trailhead to camp. You will settle in and begin Day 1 of your hunt the following morning.
Both Six Mile Ranch and the trailhead north of Chezacut can be reached by motor vehicle. From these points, restricted access requires that we haul gear and supplies in by tractor or team and wagon. Hunters ride in on horseback. The horses are sure-footed ranch animals that are well used to packing guests, as they tour all summer in the mountains.
Getting Here
BY ROAD: Anahim Lake is approximately a four-hour drive west of Williams Lake, via Highway 20. The turn-off for Chezacut is about half way.
BY AIR: Flights and charters are available from Vancouver to Anahim Lake (Pacific Coastal Airlines) and between Williams Lake and Vancouver, Comox and Campbell River (Central Mountain Air).
Out Camps
Depending on the location, our out-camps are either secluded cabins or large wall tents equipped with portable showers and wood heaters - providing a warm, dry place to rest after a long day's hunt. We supply the bunks, foam mattresses and all meals.
All camps are equipped with radio telephones.
The ideal group size is a party of four hunters although larger groups can be accommodated. We prefer not to mix different parties though smaller groups or single hunters may be required to share the camp with another party.
